Kadapa MP Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy was granted conditional bail in the quid pro quo cases against him and others by a special CBI court in Hyderabad on Monday. He got the bail after being in jail for the last one-and-a-half years.
The court has granted the bail with conditions that he should not leave Hyderabad without prior permission and should appear before it whenever proceedings required his presence. The Kadapa MP has been in jail since May 27, 2012.
The judge said Mr. Jagan could be enlarged as the investigation agency, the CBI, stated that its probe into all aspects of the case had been completed. The announcement led to spontaneous jubilation among his supporters who gathered near the court in large numbers.
His wife Y.S. Bharati, Uncle Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy and others were present when the court pronounced its verdict granting bail to Mr. Jagan.
