Virender Sehwag's childhood coach AN Sharma has denied all the rumours stating that Virender Sehwag had asked BCCI to arrange a farewell match for him. He added that it was he who had wished for it but he is sad that Sehwag didn't get a farewell match, which he deserved. He said that Sehwag never wished for a farewell match, nor did he ask for it.
Sharma told that the legend was not treated the right way after his retirement, neither by the BCCI nor by the DDCA (Delhi and Districts Cricket Association). DDCA also didn't honour him and not everything was right between the two and it forced Sehwag to move to Haryana for this year's Ranji trophy.
Sharma added that Sehwag was a rare talent and India won't see another like him. He was a gifted player and a selfless player.
Earlier Sehwag has thanked his coach for his guidance and said that he was perhaps the only coach who could make him the player he went on to become. He added that he would have struggled to play for his school under any other coach.
Sharma added that he never believed in forcing a player to change his technique, but to make subtle changes in them without it affecting the player's natural game.
