Telugu directors getting B-town offers is no more a strange thing. After Ram Gopal Varma conquered Bollywood for a while, his protege Puri Jagannadh too proved his mettle following the former’s footsteps. Choreographer-turned-director Prabhudeva, who made his directorial debut in Telugu with Siddharth-Trisha starrer Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana, creating ripples in Hindi film industry with his Rs 100 crore grosser films. New-age director Krish Jagarlamudi is on his way to leave his mark with Akshay Kumar-starrer Gabbar. Well, the latest is that director Sukumar, one of the top directors in Telugu, is the name that is doing in B-town circles. The reason is his hit film Aarya 2 (Lead role played by Allu Arjun) is going to remade in Hindi. According to reports, Gireesh Kumar Tauraniwho made his debut with Ramaiya Vastavaiya in Hindi, is going to step into the shoes of Bunny. Original romantic drama stars Kajal Aggarwal and Shraddha Das as female leads. Gireesh’s father Kumar Taurani, who producedhis debut, is also going to produce this film under their home banner. Apparently, Kumar is planning to rope in Sukumar to direct the project in Hind too. But what we hear is that director Sukumar has turned down the offer citing his present commitments. Sukumar, who is set to direct Jr NTR in his next, couldn’t take up the project for him. Interestingly, Gireesh’s movie Ramaiya Vastavaiya, directed by Prabhudeva is also remake of Telugu hit Nuvvosthananthe Nenoddantana starring Siddharth and Trisha which in turn directed by Prabhu himself. What’s irony is Sukumar has apparently turned down the offer due to his present commitments down the south. He is going to direct Jr NTR in his next. And also planning to concentrate on his recently floated production house. If Sukumar would have given his nod, things would be different. However, it’s not official but Film Nagar buzz.
