Saif, Kareena to shift to a new home worth a whopping Rs.48 crore

Mega celebrity couple Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor have been happily married and living in Mumbai for quite some time now. The high-maintenance couple are known for their extravagant ways and now they have added another asset to their long list of possessions. 

News is that Saifeena (as they are popularly known) will be shifting to a four floor apartment in Bandra, collectively worth a whopping Rs.48 crore.

Saif has bought four floors of a building opposite his present residence, Fortune Heights, in Bandra. Each floor of that apartment has 3BHK and measures 3,000 sq feet. The cost of each flat is around Rs.12 crore, which sums up to 48 crores. According to a source, Saif will also shift his office to the new location.

A source added "Saif likes to live in spacious surroundings. While he and Kareena have been living in their Bandra apartment for many years now, they now feel the need for a bigger space, so the couple has invested in a new home. Saif has fancy plans for their new abode. He wants a terrace-garden on one floor, a swimming pool on another and gym in another. There is also a plan for a big library for his many precious books."

In Fortune Heights, the Nawab currently has two apartments; one is his home and the other has production office "Illuminati Films". Another source has quipped that the new house will be designed by celebrity designer Nozer Wadia, who has designed homes for Amitabh Bachchan, Gautam Singhania and Arjun Rampal. 

The source also added, "Kareena is looking into every aspect of the designing and will take full responsibility. One of the four apartments will be ready by mid 2014 and the couple plans to shift and give their current residence on rent.
