Beautiful actress Jayasudha is celebrating her birthday today (December 17th). We wish Jayasudha Happy Birthday.
Jayasudha Kapoor (Sujatha) was born on December 17th, 1958 in Tamil Nadu. She started her career as a child artist with the film Pandanti Kapuram (1972) and also started acting in supporting roles in Tamil movies such as Arangetram and Apoorva Raagangal.
As there was already another actress named Sujatha in the industry, the writer- director V.C. Guhanathan named her as ‘Jayasudha’. She acted as a heroine for the first time in Telugu film Lakshmana Rekha in the year 1975. In 1976, she got her break as a heroine with the film Jyothi where she starred opposite Murali Mohan. She also won Filmfare, Nandi Award as Best actress for this film. Her acting skills seem to be original and that’s why she is called as Sahaja Nati’.
After this movie, Jayasudha was flooded with many offers from Tamil and Telugu Cinemas. But she focused mainly in Tollywood and in only one year, she had 24 releases at that time. She was paired with big stars like ANR, NTR, Krishna, Shoban Babu, Chiranjeevi, Krishnam Raju, Murali Mohan and Mohan Babu Her notable films include Idi Katha Kadu, Driver Ramudu, Adavi Ramudu, Meghasandesam, Pranam Khareedu, Kirai Dada, Super Police etc.
She made her Bollywood debut in the year 1977 with the film ‘Aaina’ which was dud at the box office. She was seen in another Hindi film ‘Shabash Daddy’ in the year 1979 which was also dud at the box office.
She won six Filmfare awards in the Best Actress category and many state awards were followed her. Jayasudha who have been contributing to Telugu movies for over 4 decades acted in many films. She devoted her time to social issues and became MLA for Secunderabad Assembly.
