SHRUTI HAASAN DATING INDIAN CRICKET CAPTAIN?
Yes…if the latest reports are to be believed! This is the latest talk of the town all over India now.
And breathe a sigh! We are not referring to MS Dhoni here [We know he is happily married]. But we are indeed talking about yet another cricketing sensation (not Virat too!) but instead the New Captain of the Indian Cricket team that is touring Bangladesh shortly - Suresh Raina.
Yes Shruti and Suresh Raina are latest love birdies now! We know Shruthi Haasan supports Chennai Super Kings team but now looks like she is cheering for CSK and Suresh Raina as well.
"Raina used to consider her his lucky mascot. This year, she has kept away from the cricket grounds. Yet Raina is playing extremely well. So the superstition has obviously ended. It is a mature relationship now and they are in love. But they are trying to keep it private and not speak about it in public", a source close to the couple was heard telling a tabloid.
The source also added "Shruti and Raina try to meet as much as their busy schedules allow them, and are very serious about each other"
Yes…cricket and cinema are inseparable and there were many love couples like Tiger Pataudi-Sharmila Tagore, Anushka – Virat Kohli and now Shruti and the Young Indian Captain are only proving this!
Though Suresh Raina tried to clarify through his tweet - "Too many media reports which no one even tries to confirm. This is to clear once & for all. I'm not dating ANYONE", Shuti has neither condemned or commented about this yet.

Story
Brothers Ram (Shaam) and Lakshman (Allu Arjun) have a very cat and mouse relationship. Lakshman (Allu Arjun) is happy go lucky guy plans to leave to America. He falls in love in the first instance with Spandhana (Shruti Haasan) and starts falling behind her. The share a unique bonding in sometime. Ram turns as ACP and starting going behind corrupt thug - aspiring politician Shiva Reddy (Ravi Kishen). That's when Shiva Reddy plans to kill him and clear his hurdles before the elections. But Lucky comes into the picture and saves his brother from the trouble. The twist in the tale begins. Will Lucky save his family from the Shiva Reddy. Who is Kill Bill Pandey (Brahmanandam)? forms the rest of the storyline.
Star Performance
Allu Arjun is real good as Lakshman, and has improved his comic timing terrifically with this role. He sings, dances, and even flexes his muscles apart from doing some unbelievable aerobics stunts. The freestyle steps in the Down Down songs are interesting. Ram (Shaam) acted as a police officer and he did a good job though his character limited. The chemistry between Shaam and Allu Arjun is middling never really lifted the film with their chemistry. Brahmanandam is major highlight of the film. Elevates the pre climax and climax episodes with his powerful introduction as Kill Bill Pandey. Director must appreciated for the Shruti Haasan's character as Spandana. The ways Shruti emotes - mannerisms in the film are funny. Saloni is okay in her extended cameo. Tanikella Bharini did a reasonable job. Mukesh Rushi as the baddie is powerful in looks, while Ravi Kishen in negative character showcases his worst performance.
Jayaprakash Reddy has played the role that he had done several times in the past. PRakash Raj's cameo evokes some interest while M S Narayana, Srinivas Reddy and Taagubothu Ramesh comedy is a big letdown and is no patch to his earlier works. Pavitra Lokesh plays a loving mother.
Techinical Team
Story of the film is nothing new its tale of two brothers who go against corrupt Politician to save their family and state from thugs. There are some films which start of casually, give you high hopes and then fizzles out in the second half and ends with comedy bang towards the end. Race Gurram is one such film. It had a promising start, but then ends up like just like another action film with the standard set of villains and the common man ranting against the system, which we have seen in many Telugu films before. Director Surender Reddy has given his careers weakest film with Race Gurram.
The Boochade Boochade.. Gala Gala.. Down Down songs are fine ones from Thaman SS. For this type of major action comedy entertainer cinema the handling of cinematography is very difficult. Dialogues by Vemma Reddy are middling. Manoj Paramahamsa gives a competent work. The Background Music at places increases the commercial value of the film. The editing is fine from Goutham Raju. The Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Productions are grand.
Plus Points
Allu Arjun,Bramhi,Cinematography,BGM
Negative Points
Predictable Narration,thin Storyline,Direction,character Elevation.
Analysis
Race Gurram begins in style, promising aplenty. Sadly a sense of lethargy creeps as the narration starts. With many ups and downs, the film ends on a predictable path without much to cherish. The star cast no doubt gives their best. The major asset of the film is Brahmanandam's introduction and his performance. The cinematography by Manoj is good while Thaman has given brilliant Background. Yet the mix goes wrong which mars the show. On the whole, Race Gurram is a formula flick high on prediction. Watch it for the Allu Arjun and Brahmanandam.

RANA AS SHIVA AND SHRUTI AS SATI!
October 27, 2013

Set in 1900 BC, the story begins with Shiva standing on the banks of holy Manasarovar, at the foot of Mount Kailash, Tibet. “Shiva gazed at the orange sky. The clouds hovering above Mansarovar had just parted to reveal the setting sun. The brilliant giver of life was calling it a day once again. Shiva had seen a few sunrises in his twenty-one years. But the sunset! He tried never to miss the sunset!” begins Amish, his Immortals of Meluha.
He then goes on and on for three obese books. His Shiva Trilogy- The Immortals of Meluha, The secret of the Nagas and the Oath of the Vayuputras, is also one of the best selling series of all time.
I’m a lazy reader myself and I couldn’t pause until I finished all the three books. Many, who have read the book says it’s a spiritual journey on the whole. But, for me, being a better movie enthusiast, the book has all the elements- heroism, action, melting romance, good humour, sensible sentiments and some glamour too- for a fine commercial movie.
After I finished the three books, the first thought that struck my mind was that how grand it would be to witness this as a movie franchise. I was initially wondering that an animated movie with all the best techs would be cool. Although the creative freedom would be restricted, a real time movie would have the relativity factor working in favour of it. So I have come up with the best possible (according to me, of course) cast and crew that could make this stunning novel into a massive commercial entertainer. But I never imagined how absurd the cast would look on paper, with the weird ‘age-and-appearance-doesn’t-match’ concept in the novel. However, the author has explained the reason well enough for us to care less about this little mismatch!
If I’m not wrong, Karan Johar possesses the rights to make this into a movie. But, I want the movie version to be made primarily in Tamil, especially for the fact that Hindi and I aren’t in talking terms. So here it goes...
Rana Daggubatti as Shiva: With his well toned and muscular physique, the tall Rana Daggubatti can definitely take up the lead role of Shiva, a fierce fighter, passionate lover and an admirable leader with a good taste for humour. The whole story is about Shiva’s pursuit of the true evil, in order to ravage it.
Shruti Haasan as Sati: The beautiful heir of Kamal Haasan, with her extraordinary potential to dance and emote could easily fit in as Sati, the cursed, but dazzling warrior princess of Meluha. Shruti Haasan with her lithe and agile body satisfies all the demands of the character.
Prithviraj as Veerbhadra- Veerabhadra is the childhood friend of Shiva and the captain of Shiva’s army. He is also Shiva’s pot mate (There’ll be a gracious amount of pot smoking in the film and I’m afraid our late Gutka Mukesh’s associates, the Censor Board wouldn’t be very happy as usual). Actor Prithviraj’s athletic physic and rugged look makes him the best choice for the role.
Madhavan as Nandi- With his plump musculature and innocent looks, but the ability to be athletic if required, Madhavan could be a good option to play Nandi, a loyal devotee of Shiva and a captain of the Meluhan army.
Vijay Sethupathy as Dhaksha- “Seriously... Vijay Sethupathy as Dhaksha, Sati’s father that is Shruti Haasan’s father?” you might ask. But, there’s a reason behind Meluhans’ youthful looks. On the other hand, it’d be interesting to see Vijay Sethupathy in a gray shaded character. Afterall, he loves experimenting!
Sudeep as Parvateshwar- Parvateshwar, a true Meluhan, the god father of Sati and the head of Meluhan Army, is one of the most intense characters in the novel and Sudeep is an actor who could easily pull off extreme emotions.
Anyone as Ganesh: Anyone with a good physique and an ability to act could do Ganesh, the deformed elder son of Sati. Anyway the actor’s face would have to be graphically or with mask, be altered to look like an elephant face.
The same applies to Kali, Sati’s deformed twin sister.
Gautham Karthik as Bhagirath: Gautham’s youthful and buoyant nature makes him the best option for Bhagirath, the valiant prince of Ayodhya.
Anaika Soti as Anandmayi: The very attractive Anaika is well suited to play Anandmayi, the charming princess of Ayodhya and the love interest of Parvateshwar.
Prakash Raj as sage Brigu: Who would be a better choice to play a bad guy than Praksh Raj, an expert familiar with all shades of gray? And, I’m pretty sure that the actor would enjoy playing a character as deceptive and ambitious as Brigu.
And finally, Nassar with his intelligent looks is a straight suit for Brihaspati, the Meluhan chief scientist and Saranya Ponvannan, who has played mother of everyone in the industry, can be cast as Ayurvati, the chief of medicines.
Now to the most important part. It was so evident that Amish had lived every character that he had created. The story has some extraordinarily simple, yet impactful dialogues. I believe our lyric engineer Madhan Karky, who proved his knack with words with projects as extremes as Enthiran and Idharkuthaane Aasaipattai Balakumara, could do an inspiring job with the dialogues. Also his expertise in Tamil will come into play.
If Amish’s expertise in cinematography is as exceptional as his ability to sketch the beautiful landscapes of Manasarovar, Meluhan empire, Ayodhya, the Dhandaka forest and the other locations, I would suggest he crank the lens himself. Otherwise, the master of cinematography, Santosh Siva, who could show heroism using a mere dog (Thuppakki), would be the apt person to wield the camera. His Ravanan, Urumi and many other masterpieces would vouch my statement.
Music- AR Rahman hands down. I needn’t even explain why. As for as the captain of the ship is concerned, it was difficult for me to choose one from the list of my favourites and the real experts of the genre. After a lot of thinking, the name that just kept showing up in my mind was SS Rajamouli’s. His expertise in handling a period subject, his success rate and his deep knowledge on recent technology makes him the best man to translate this fascinating novel into a majestic movie without losing the true essence of it.
And to sum up, I really hope this happens soon!

Heroines fight put Mahesh in trouble?
September 17, 2013

Though Mahesh Babu is the most desired and the craziest heartthrob for many girls, he has maintained a very clean image without any controversies like linkups and affair gossips. The other side, there are many heroines who do everything they can to get a role and pair with him. But here is one recent news.
It is heard that Mahesh Babu is facing a problem. For his new film ‘Agadu’ the heroine is yet to be confirmed and the reason for that is the fight between two prospective heroines. They are the duo of Tamannah and Shruti Haasan. Sometime back, both their names were heard and everything looked confirmed.

Shruti sentimental about tattoos
Shruti Haasan has a fascination for Rudraksha Malas and imprinting tattoos on body
parts. Ask her about this and she says that, its not fascination but
she is very sentimental about them. There’s a new tattoo on her back.
But Shruti says that it’s not a new tattoo but has been on her for days.
Actually it is her name in Tamil script.
Talking about her fashion statement Shruti said that she dresses according to her mood. There is no specific fashion mantra adds the lissome lass. Just that she loves to dress up.

I take criticism on a positive note: Shruti Haasan
Shruti Haasan has had a very bad debut be it in Bollywood or Tollywood and she was written off, however she got over the image pretty soon and is going on at a rocket pace with back to back hits in both the industries. She seems to have learnt certain lessons and has said that “I have seen people who have praised when my movie was a hit and criticised my acting skills when the film was a dud. However I don’t bother about such things and I only feel that hard work and dedication will eventually lead us to success”.
Adding further she said “I do take criticism with an open mind so that I can introspect myself and check from time to time if I am really lacking behind and at the same time I never take praises to my heart as I may become strong headed which is not a good quality”.

Never had to worry about money or fame : Shruti Haasan
Shruti Haasan comes across as a very confident young lady. She is someone who knows what she wants and strives to
achieve that. Shruti is currently busy with Allu Arjun’s ‘Race Gurram’
and she will also be seen in NTR’s ‘Ramayya Vasthavayya’.
Eenadu paper quoted Shruti Haasan for an interesting article today. “I’ve never had to worry about money or fame. With every new film, I try to take the actress in me to the next level. Dedication towards work is like a blessing that will propel us forward”, she reportedly said.
