Mahesh Babu starrer Aagadu goes on floors

The principal shooting of Mahesh Babu, Tamannaah starrer Aagadu began today. Directed by Sreenu Vaitla, the film is being produced by Anil Sunkara, Gopichand and Ram Achanta under 14 Reels Entertainment banner. Sreenu Vaitla and Mahesh Babu had earlier teamed up for Dookudu which went on to become a smash hit back in 2011.

Mahesh Babu will once again be seen in a police officer’s role in this film and it’s said to be an out-and-out mass character. Similarly, Tamannaah, who has so far been playing uber glamorous or girl-next-door roles, will be seen in a mass character. Few months ago, Sreenu Vaitla had revealed that he has not followed the pattern which was blatant in his recent films like Dookudu and Baadshah. Although he hasn’t disclosed too many details about what he meant by that, sources close to the film unit suggest that Sreenu Vaitla is moving away from confusion themed action comedy, which he started with Dhee and took it to a whole new level with Ready and Dookudu.

Thaman is scoring the music for this film and KV Guhan is the cinematographer. The film is expected to hit the screens in summer 2014.

‘Aagadu’ starts at right muhurtham

Mahesh Babu is busy with the shooting of his film ‘1-Nenokkadine’ but it has not stopped him from starting his new film. This is ‘Aagadu’ and according to latest news, the Muhurtham for the film yesterday completed at 8.09 am at the Ramanaidu Studios. Some of the noted celebrities of Tollywood were present during the event. ‘Aagadu’ is directed by Sreenu Vaitla and it is heard that Tamannah has been taken as the first heroine. The search is on for a second heroine. The film is expected to be an action entertainer but with good dose of comedy and commercial masala. Mahesh is likely to be seen as a police officer in the film. The music for the film is by Thaman and it would be made under the banner of 14 Reels Entertainment, the same team which made Mahesh-Vaitla’s blockbuster hit ‘Dookudu’. Some have also rumored that ‘Aagadu’ is more like a sequel to ‘Dookudu’. We will know the truth soon.

Mahesh’s mindset matches only them?

In order to work with a star hero there are lot of parameters to be considered. Most importantly, it is the understanding level which must be on same page. Mahesh–Vaitla’s intelligent plan

There was a time when Telugu films were made with standard Telugu accent which was more Brahminic in nature so there was no confusion but over the years the trend has changed. Different accents and slangs across Andhra Pradesh are being used by different characters which has created an identity.
Now, the same plan is being used by Mahesh Babu and Sreenu Vaitla for their new film ‘Aagadu’. It is heard that Mahesh will be seen rolling out dialogues both in Andhra slang and Telangana slang. The same plan was used in ‘Dookudu’ also and it really worked well with the mass audience in both regions.
With Tollywood becoming the first target for political activists and the current tensions happening in the state, it is heard that Mahesh and Vaitla feel having a character like that will be safe for the film. ‘Aagadu’ is scheduled to start shooting from November onwards so let us see how the film progresses.
